<ご挨拶>
(ビューイングプロジェクトの詳細につきましては、こちらからご覧ください)>>more about Viewing projyect

<Introduction>
I am pleased to announce that I, Ickkow Nakamura, am launching a Viewing Project for my own work. (For details on the Viewing Project, please see [here].) >> More about the Viewing Project
Since around 2010, I have repeatedly examined and re-examined the nature of "painterliness," and have reflected the results in my work. Through this process, I have arrived at a very simple definition of painting: a medium that receives the artist's inner impulse directly, while remaining open for viewers to share.
There will, of course, be objections from various standpoints, such as formal theory and the question of medium. Even so, this is where my expression currently stands.
For this first installment of the project, I have selected my own works on the theme of the "face."
The face is the most primal point of contact between one human being and another. By looking at a face, we recognize another's presence, and from that recognition arise all kinds of impressions and feelings.
The title is "FACE: 2036."
I will not explain this title here. I hope each person will reflect on it in their own way.
As a first step, I would like to explore what kind of relationship an exhibition, starting from this most symbolic part of the body, can create between the works and those who see them.
